Following Samir Pariyar’s departure from Thangpalkot to live with his father in Kathmandu, we have added Anju to our Nemira-COMMITTED Student Sponsorship Program.
Anju is another child who had the misfortune of being born into a Dalit family and therefore classified an untouchable.
A grade 3 student, she is from Gunsa VDC. She lives with her mother and older brother. Her father died when she was only 6. Her brother is the sole breadwinner of the family. The earthquake of April 25 damaged her house.

Purchases by Nemira Customers 7 – 18, which otherwise would have paid for Samir’s education will ensure that Anju gets to go to school!

July 2017 Update
It’s been almost two years since the last update. She never really stayed in the village and the school long enough for us to even being the sponsorship for her in earnest. She migrated to Kathmandu and is currently living in the city from what the teachers tell us.
