I arrived in the US on March 31 intending to travel for three months, visiting and re-connecting with friends, attending my 20th reunion at Grinnell College, and giving talks and presentations to inspire–especially the next generation–to follow their dreams and to promote what we do at COMMITTED.
However, within a month of being in the country, a major earthquake struck the country putting me on the added mission of raising awareness about the calamity, networking–with the hope of establishing long-term relationships–and raising funds for our relief work.
For details about my travels in the US and links to other presentation, check out “A Whirlwind Tour.”
I also made an effort to reach out to Nepalese organizations and individuals. To that end, I gave a presentation at the Town Hall meeting of the Association of Nepalese in Minnesota. They had raised considerable funds in support of the earthquake victims in Nepal, and a good buddy of mine had arranged for me to speak at the event.
The following is a video of that presentation.
On behalf of COMMITTED family, I would like to thank the Association of Nepalese in Minnesota and especially Rupesh and Archana for the their hospitality and for arranging and coordinating the my presentation.
Following the presentation, COMMITTED was invited to apply for funding for our projects which we did but we have yet to hear from back from them.
