The morning of May 13, 2013, the morning after being released from jail, I was shuttled around in the Nepalese embassy vehicle. I had papers to pick up from the Al Rayyan police station where I had been held and then my passport from Qatar Foundation Human Resource office before I could fly home. In addition to someone from the Embassy, I was accompanied by Hom Karki, a journalist for Kantipur. He wrote the following piece based on conversations we had that day until I flew out that afternoon.
